Home Page Home Buyer Home Tour FAQ What are the Home Buyer Home Tours? It is a chance to see what you could buy for about $500 down and about $800 a month. Participants will meet at a CENTURY 21 Advantage office (locations here). They will receive a packet containing information on the homes they will see plus information on how much they would cost to buy. Attendees will then be taken on a tour of 4-6 homes that meet the parameters specified above, from local listed properties. Then, they will be brought back to the office they started from and sent on their way. From start to finish, it should take about 2 hours. Who can attend? Anyone. But, this program is ideal for first-time home buyers or those who are thinking about getting back into home ownership. If you know someone who should at least consider home ownership, encourage them to attend. How much does it cost? Not a dime. This is a free service of Bank of Commerce and CENTURY 21 Advantage. What's the catch? There is none. We want to show folks what they could buy if they chose to go forward. Our theory is that the more folks look at homes and understand current loan options, the more homes that will be sold. But, that is your individual choice. We won't pressure you at all. What kind of programs are available for first time home buyers? Most people looking to get their first property can get assistance with down payment, closing costs and/or monthly payments. The Idaho Housing Finance Agency provides grants. There are other similar programs available. Some of these programs require participation in an 8 hour seminar on home ownership. Is now the time to buy a home? The news media has recently been filled with stories of problems in the lending industry and soft real estate markets. True, some loans for folks with poor credit, investors and high-end properties have gotten tougher to get. But, most local first-time buyers don't fit those categories. And, our local real estate markets have been pretty healthy. All real estate is local. And, local real is doing fine. | |
